I am open to anything and everything for her. Action and adventure! Romance and stea~mier things! Modern AUs! Other stuff! Portia typically prefers women and more feminine gender expressions for wooing (and more), although she is pansexual. Regardless, she easily befriends anyone and everyone (and anything). Not Lucio. Or Camio.
about
Portia is a hard-working young woman, currently employed as head servant at Vesuvia's palace. As the favorite maid of the Countess, Portia is well-respected, however this does little to quell her penchant for mischief and adventure. Fearless and flirtatious, Portia never backs down from a challenge, a fright, or a fight, and will always stand up for both her friends and for justice.

She's tough and strong, physically and emotionally, able to effortlessly carry the Countess as needed, and able to withstand an almost alarming amount of anxiety caused by her older brother, Julian. But for all her gregariousness, Portia does have her secrets, much as it can pain her to keep them. It's not well-known that Julian is her brother, and it's something she guards especially well from the Countess. She also hides her literacy, for reasons unknown—particularly odd, since she is such a vocal and avid fan of swashbuckling adventure series. And, perhaps as all our strongest friends have, Portia has her insecurities and self-doubts, though they're nothing a quick kiss and a wink of reassurance can't fix.

history
Portia was born somewhere south of Vesuvia, the place she now calls home. When she was young, her family was torn apart by a storm, and she and her older brother washed up on shore together. Rescued by the salt seals there, they were found by Mazelinka, the woman who would become a foster grandmother to them, and brought to the nearest town: Nevivon. Mazelinka and her lover Lilinka raised the siblings together, although the much older Julian, for whom Portia has always had stars in her eyes, would eventually go off to live his own life and leave her behind to grow up on her own. Portia found her way to Vesuvia many years later, in search of her brother whom she'd discovered had been accused of murdering the Count. Along the way, she acquired her faithful seal point cat Pepi, and learned to fight with a spear. Once in Vesuvia, Portia eventually earns her job at the palace, tending to the Countess who, at the time, was currently in a deep, unending slumber. The Countess's gratitude for her patience and care during that time has her naming Portia her handmaiden, and it isn't long at all before she becomes her closest confidant as well.

As for canon point, because The Arcana is a game with such a jumbled and ever-changing timeline, I am very flexible. I will default to something nebulous between the beginning and end of the Prologue, with Countess Nadia awake, Portia head servant, and the worst of the Red Plague behind Vesuvia. However, if you have something else you'd like to write, I'm game! I've finished several of the character routes and read up on the others, so I have a strong general knowledge of the canon. I'd also love to drop her into an AU (either a crosscanon, or even something more modern). Please don't be shy about asking!
